Brett started behind the kit when he was 12, after watching a local college jam band at a school assembly. Malo and 3 of his best friends formed a rock band, which started out covering classics from Hendrix, Cream, and more. Shortly after their beginnings, they broke into original music; later to transition into a jazz combo. The group excelled to new heights, taking 3rd place in the Reno International Jazz Festival. Eventually moving to Phoenix, he began working with 'The Reverend Black' (2 In The Chest) and Chuck Simoes (Apex Nemesis) for a short stint. Seeking more, Malo and Chuck would later begin the formation of Malo De Dentro. The rest is history...
